Kraft Plus October challenge

Lookie here!  Second blog post in a month... go me!  When I saw the October challenge over at the Kraft Plus blog I immediately had a photo in mind... with some itty bitty shells ready to go!  Here is the challenge...

And here is my take on it...

I got the ol' paints and imapasto out last night and had a bit of play.  A very simple layout, but I'm pretty happy with how it turned out :-)  Especially since it's a budget friendly layout... shells from the beach, sand from the sand pit, a li'l metal embellishment from a candle, a button and a flair button from Flutterby Designs (ahhh, there's that feather!).  Apologies, it isn't the greatest photo, as it's a rather rainy day here today.  I promise it does look more vibrant in real life... there is even a touch of glitter on the 'water'... but you wouldn't know it.

So there you have it!  My second layout for the month (just)... let's see how we go on my retreat next weekend lol

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you're having a beautiful day xoxox

123 Challenge - October 2015!

Hi!  Yep, I'm still alive and kicking.  I have been churning out the odd layout here and there... but not an awful lot.  My body has not been happy lately and it really does have an affect on your mind :-(  But anyway... I am heading off to a retreat next month so I REALLY need to find some mojo, and what better way than with a challenge or two.  You never know... I might go for the two!

Okay, so here is my entry for the October challenge over at 123-Challenge blog.  The criteria are spots, lime and 'today'.  I may have gone a little over board on the spots and lime... you may need your sunnies!!!

Green and yellow are my all time favourite colours... always have been, always will be, so I had lots of fun doing this layout!  Thanks for the much needed mojo boost 123-Challenge blog!

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you are having a SUPER day!

Scrap the Boys - August Challenge

Hi!  Well I haven't been around much...  just generally busy or not feeling creative.  Although I did complete this layout a couple of weeks ago for the August Challenge over at Scrap the Boys. My friend came over for the evening and witnessed a woman possessed lol. I just went absolutely crazy on this layout!
The challenge is to do some 'profiling'... so I went to work putting down some of the things that make my eldest son tick... not a simple thing lol. His brain is going at a million miles an hour ALL THE TIME!!!  When he was little he became completely obsessed with Buzz Lightyear, and then Ben 10.  We worked with a psychologist and occupational therapist, and one goal was to broaden his intetests to help deal with his obsessive behaviour.   It makes me laugh now to think of this!  Now he is interested in MANY things.  He still becomes totally obsessed... he just has more to choose from.  I get tired just thinking about everything that goes on in that little head of his!
So anyway.. here is my layout.   It's kind if messy and crazy... just like my little boy ♡♡♡  I hope you like it and thank you for stopping by :-)

Scrap the Boys: June Challenge

It's been so long since I've been here!  Hi!  I really haven't been scrapping a whole lot lately... either busy or just can't be bothered lol. But I did scrap with a friend a couple of weeks ago.  I thought my layout would suit Scrap the Boys latest challenge... to scrap a BIG photo.  I've had this photo siting around waiting for this challenge lol.  My cute little guy doing a bit of colouring!  His older brother LOVES art, but this guy isn't as 'into it'.  So when I stumbled across him sitting quietly (also something of a rarity for Royce) colouring I had to run for the camera!  I've even added the cute little heart he was colouring to my page :-)

Well that's it from me... it's school holidays here so I better go make the most of it... love having my boys home with me ♡♡♡  If you want to be super quick and have a go at this challenge head here.  Hope you're having a beautiful day and thanks for stopping by xoxo

CAS(E) this Sketch #66

Good afternoon!  Here is a quick card I made using the latest sketch over at CAS(E) this Sketch.  I love that these sketches make it so quick and easy to make a lovely card :-)
Here is the sketch:

And here is my take on it

So, so simple, but just love how it turned out!
Thanks for stopping by and I hope you're having a fantastic day xoxo

Scrap the Boys - February Challenge

A super quick post today, as I am not feeling the best.  The February Challenge over at Scrap the Boys was to create a layout featuring someone special.  I have had this layout half finished on my desk since the beginning of the month.  I thought I would get it finished today... help keep my mind busy.  What do you think?
It's certainly not the greatest layout, but a layout I have been wanting to do for quite a while.  I still can't believe this little guy is in Grade 2 this year... and his little brother is now a school boy too!!!  I will miss their kinder and their teachers a lot, they really are two very special ladies :-)

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you're having a beautiful day xoxo

Inspired Blueprints - Sketch 118

Good afternoon!   Well it's rather hot here in Geelong. .. so the boys are spending the day chilling inside and I thought I'd take the chance to relax in my creative space :-)

Yesterday when I was cruising around a few blog (I never seem to have a lot of time for this these days) I found this gorgeous sketch over at the Inspired Blueprints blog.

I love a good multi photo sketch... and this one is definitely a goody!!!  Here is my take on it:

I flipped the sketch vertically to suit my photos... the one below the title had a stray arm I wanted to hide.  Other than that it's pretty spot on.   Although the bottom photo is a little bigger, but I didn't want to chop out any if that super cute pose Royce had going on :-D

Head over here if you would like to check out the sketch and some gorgeous examples from the Inspired Blueprints design team :-)  Thanks for stopping by and I hope you are having a SUPER day!!!

Scrapbook Creations Inspiration Board Challenge: January 2014

Hi!  It's an absolutely beautiful day here.  But I must say, we have kind of wasted it a little.  The boys spent a few hours on the X-box Kinect while I did a little scrapping.  Over at the Scrapbook Creations blog they currently running their January Inspiration Board Challenge.  Here is the board:
2014-01_Jan
I don't think I've ever taken part in a challenge using a mood board... not that I can remember anyway.  I think I always seem to find them a little tricky.  This one seemed quite doable... and I immediately had the photo in my head that I wanted to use...  that has to be a good sign!  So here is my layout inspired by the board:
Black, with a big splash of colour!!!  In the beginning there was not so much colour, but I absolutely LOVE these Echo Park papers, so the splash kind of grew!

Well that's it from me today.  Short and sweet, as I might get outside in the lovely afternoon sunshine.  Thank you so much for stopping by and I hope you are having a gorgeous day xoxox

Scrap the Boys - January Challenge 2014

Good evening!  Well... last night, after a big drive home from our holiday, I thought I would be a bit crazy and try and fit in a bit of scrapping time.  I was tired... but it feels like forever since I even sat down in my space to do a layout.  So while the boys were getting their Xbox 360 fix I had a go at Scrap the Boys January Challenge.  And what do your know... I got it finished!!!
So I thought I'd quickly share it while the boys are settled down playing... you guessed it... the Xbox.
For this challenge the topic was "something new".  My first thought was of course the new Xbox, but I haven't got photos of that yet, so I thought I would get  page done that's been sitting around waiting for a challenge just like this!  A few years ago my hubby FINALLY upgraded his vehicle.  It so needed to be done, particularly since I still had my little two door Hyundai Excel... so we really did need a decent sized family car (holidays were just a nightmare)  Although, he still misses 'The Ol' Girl' lol

Here is my page:
Nothing too fancy schmancy here.  Some old Sassafrass paper, some gesso used with a Kaisercraft background stamp, and some Jillibean Soup stickers and finally, some pretty badges from Greatest View :-)
If you would like to take a look at the challenge yourself head here.  I hope you like my take on it.  Thanks for stopping by and I hope you're having a beautiful day xoxox

Scrap the Boys: November Challenge

Hi!  It's been a while.  And I must say I haven't been scrapping much at all.  Life has just been rather busy!  So I thought I would sit down this afternoon and have a go at the November challenge over at Scrap the Boys.  The challenge is "man's best friend".  I had a photo of my son and our dog that I've wanted to scrap for a while... it's not the best photo, but it conveys the story.  So here it is:
This was a super quick layout using mainly Kaisercraft... no cool techniques or anything here.  But I like it :-)  Sometimes I think I can get a little too wrapped up in the new techniques and products and forget why I am scrapping... to tell the story.  This is a layout of my eldest son, Evan, and our dog Charli.  Evan has been diagnosed with ASD and can often have trouble communicating and relating to other people.  But he seems to have a connection with animals.  He is kind, gentle and loving to all creatures (great and small lol).  Our dog Charli, also seems to have a lovely connection with him.  She gets so excited when Evan heads towards the back door and then follows him around everywhere outside.  It's hard to see Ev struggle at school with his peers, but I love seeing him with Charli.  They really do have a special bond xoxox

That's about it from me.  I better go get some dinner started.  Head here if you would like to take part in the challenge or check out other talented scrappers takes on the challenge.  Thanks for stopping by and I hope you're having a terrific day!!!

Stuck?! September Sketch :-)

Good afternoon!  A super quick post before kinder pick up.  I had a friend over for a scrap sesh last week... but we did more laughing than scrapping :-)  BUT... today I finished the layout I never really started!  It's for a sketch from Stuck?!
Here is the sketch:
And here is my take on it:
Apologies for the crappy photo... it's just so much quicker and easier to take and upload on my phone :-)  I've rotated it clockwise and flipped it horizontally.  And I've used a HEAP of washi tape on here.  I have a decent collection now... but I must say it hasn't been used an awful lot.  Until now anyways lol
Sooo that's it from me.  Head over here if you want to check out the sketch and see some great takes on it.  Thanks heaps for stopping by and I hope you're having a fantastic day!!!

Scrap the Boys - August Challenge

Good afternoon!  This is going to be a super quick post before I pick up my eldest son from school... while his little brother is chilling in his favourite spot (on the couch watching telly).  So I had my beautiful friend come over Friday night to spend some quality time together crafting.  I haven't been overly crafty lately, so I thought I would do a challenge to get my mojo happening.  Scrap the Boys August challenge was to do a monochromatic layout and also use some twine and chipboard.  Now, I must admit, monochromatic really isn't my style... but I did have a browse at the DT's work and VOILA!  Inspired!!!  The very last layout by Michelle got me thinking.  I had just bought a new Clifford book for Royce... and it happened to have stickers in the back... and my little boy is such a great sharer.  So with the inspiration from Michelle's layout and a very cute photo of Royce with a picture of Clifford he drew at kinder I set to work!

I was slow starting.. but in only one evening this was the result:

Sorry about the photos... They're a bit dull as it's really crappy weather atm.  And the close up of my chipboard letters really don't do them justice :-)  These look AWESOME in real life, even if I do say so myself :-D  Very simple... red paint, glossy accents and black texta around the edges.

Well that's it from me.  I better get organised for school pick up!  Thanks for stopping by and I hope you're having a terrific day!

CAS(E) this Sketch

Good afternoon!!!  Well it's been a while!  Life has been happening :-)  I've done a little scrapping and card making here and there, but haven't shared.  And, every now and again, I've been on the net looking for inspiration... it can be a little addictive... and a little distracting lol.  Anyway, along the way I found a card challenge site.  CAS(E) this sketch.  CAS stands for Clean and Simple... gotta love that :-) The sketches are awesome!!!  I actually made a couple of cards a few weeks ago using sketch #37.  Loved how they turned out.  So I thought I would have a go at this week's sketch.

So here is the sketch:

And here is my take on it:
Gorgeous!  Used up some of my scraps too.  I have heaps of scraps, so I'm definitely going to try and sit down and make a few more over the next day or so.  The simplicity of the sketch makes it so versatile... I already have a few more ideas up my sleeve ;-)

Well that's it from me today, as I have to head off shortly to pick up the youngest from kinder.  Thanks for stopping by and I hope you're having a beautiful day xoxox

Purple Pumpkin - June sketch

Hello!  Well I haven't had much of a chance for scrapping lately... plus I'm just not feeling it lol  But I did finally get one layout complete.  This uses the sketch for June over at Purple Pumpkin. I've rotated the sketch, but otherwise kept pretty close to the original.  This has been sitting on my desk since the start of the month.   I really liked this sketch and got stuck into it straight away... but I did the back ground and wasn't all that happy with it... don't you hate that!   I was very tempted to start over, but I persevered.   Ah well... it's done.  And I'm reasonably happy with the end result.

Well this will be short and sweet today! Thanks for stopping by and I hope you are having a great day!

Life. Paper. Scrapbook. May sketch!

Good morning!  Thought l would quickly share the layout l completed using the latest sketch from Life. Paper. Scrapbook.

Here is the sketch:

And here is my take on it:
These photos of my boys and my beautiful friend were taken Christmas Eve. We all had a lovely evening making puddings and singing carols :-)  I've stuck to the sketch pretty closely, except for the number of photos.  I loved this sketch!  And think I may just use it again.  I really wanted to use one photo and cut it into four.  I really think this sketch would lend itself to that nicely... next time ;-)

So thank you for stopping by and head over here if you wish to have a closer look at the challenge... there are some amazing takes on this sketch!!!

Purple Pumpkin May Sketch

Good evening!   Well I finally have something to share.   I have just returned from a lovely weekend away scrapping with some lovely friends.  I managed to get eight layouts completed,  which is amazing... as mojo has been slightly lacking.  Although I am really wanting to stretch my creativity.  It's starting to feel like all my layouts are starting to look the same.  It's not that I don't like what I'm doing. .. it would just be nice to see a bit more variety. .. anyhow......
One layout l did complete was using the latest sketch over at Purple Pumpkin.  I've rotated the sketch and also flipped it, but have otherwise stuck to it fairly closely.  I have used the Scooby Doo button (for obvious reasons lol) and also the coordinated round.  These were perfect for my little fella, who is the biggest Scooby fan :-)
Look at my cutie pie!

Now... while I'm on the subject of Purple Pumpkin, I'm wondering... How do you store all your stuff???  I'm asking this because since returning from my weekend away I've decided my room is in serious need of some reorganisation.  It looks like a bomb site atm!!!  And NO, I am not posting a picture of it lol
Sooo... I thought now was the time to start since half my stuff was already 'out'.  First thing I decided to get into was my PP stash... which is rather large.  So it was all just stored in one of those gift boxes you get from the cheapy shops.  It was a rather large box, yet is was still bursting at the seems (everything was still in their packets).  So, I thought I might get all the buttons out and put them in a jar I had received from the retreat.  But I very quickly realised this jar would not be large enough.  Then I thought... a jar would be nice, but would not be very functional... so next I grabbed one of my drawer organiser things (everything in it tipped onto my desk... possibly not the smartest idea considering the huge mess already and it went totally against what I was aiming to achieve).  This was not very sturdy, but I thought it would do the job for now... I really am trying to cut back on spending... surely there are enough containers in my house to figure something out... right???
Sooo.... I tipped them all in this container and continued on... well by the end this container was also overflowing (the photo above was taken after I started reorganising again).  SOOO... I eventually came across one of those plastic container thingy-ma-jigs that have all the dividers in it.  It did contain some letters... that I had gotten when I VERY first started scrapping and hadn't looked at in like a billion years!!!  SO... they got put into the 'donate to kinder pizza box' and away I went sorting my buttons into categories.  Spots, patterns, animals, transport etcetera-etcetera-etcetera.  Once this was done, I was like, OH... the lid wasn't going to shut... BUT with a little tidying and even further sorting (hey may as well... I'd gone this far).......
TAA DAAAAAA!!!!
Now my PP buttons are beautifully organised!!!  When I'm scrapping these are always one of the first 'go to' embellishments, so I'm so happy they are now well organised... the only down side is that there isn't much room for many more though :-(  I'll just have to get scrapping hey!

OK, so that was a much longer post than what it was suppose to be, but I just had to share my little project for this evening.  Now to tackle the rest of the room... as Shaggy would say 'ZOINKS'!!!
Thank you for popping by... and if you want to check out the challenge and the DT examples head here.

LPS Colour Challenge #3

Well!  I finally sat down today and had a little play!  It's been awhile. ..  I decided to join in on the latest colour challenge over at Life.  Paper.  Scrapbook.
You can see my take on it below :-)

I thought the colours were perfect to document Evan's 100th day at school :-)  Hs loved dessing up as an old man and learning about numbers too!  I've used the badge he recieved as a title... that made it easy lol And I've also included the book he made on the day :-)  Too cute!  And yep, l almost think he could do 100 pizzas lol.  Well it's short and sweet today!  I'm uploading from my mobile, so hopefully it works ok... gosh technology is amazing these days.
Anyway, thanks for stopping by and hope you're having a beautiful day xoxo
And head over to Life.  Paper. Scrapbook.  if you have a sec because there ia loads of inspiration! !!

Inspired Blueprints - Sketch #86

Hi!  A super quick post before I pick Royce up from kinder.  I found a very lovely sketch last week over at Inspired Blueprints.  So my friend and I sat down together to give it a go and try to motivate each other... well I finally finished it off today!

Here is the sketch:
Inspired Blueprints | Sketch 86

And my take on it:

Crappy photo... sorry :-/
I've stuck pretty closely to the sketch, just changing the number of photos really.  Look at my li'l cutie pie at kinder... speaking of kinder, better go pick him up!  Thanks for stopping by and hope you are having a splendid day!

Woo hoo!!! that was SUPER quick lol

LPS Colour Challenge #1

Good afternoon!  It's so hot here at the moment... I should be cleaning, organising or at least doing something a little productive... but I'm not lol  I have been looking through old photos of my gorgeous boys instead :-)  They really are growing up way too fast for my liking.

Anyways, I have also uploaded the latest photos from my camera onto my computer!  Here is one of the latest layouts I have completed:

This is for the February Colour Challenge over at Life.Paper.Scrapbook.  This is a relatively new site I found via Leanne Allinson's blog... whom I've been following for yonks.  It's going to be an "online publication that is dedicated to showcasing designers from all around the world to inspire each other, explore current trends and techniques and most importantly to celebrate our love of scrapbooking and paper crafts".  They are also going to have monthly challenges!!!  Just look at the colour inspiration photo...
So cool!!!

So... I've used the Fine and Sunny collection from Kaisercraft which I bought a few weeks ago just because I thought is was so, ummm... Cheerful :-)  Yep, I think cheerful is the right word!  I don't think you could get a better matching range of papers for this challenge either.  And look... a boy layout with pink!!!  It took me YEARS to feel comfortable using flowers on my boy pages, I'm not sure if I've done any with pink before???  But I think I might again :-)  Well that's it from me today.  I really better go get something done!  Hope you're having a SUPER DUPER day and thanks for stopping by xoxo

ScrapFriends - Colour Palette Challenge Jan 2013

Well, well, well!  I really wanted to give the latest colour challenge over at ScrapFriends a go!  And I've done it!  It's been sitting on my desk half done for over a week.  And when I say half done, I actually mean photos chosen, trimmed and a selection of paper out of the stash lol.
OK...
Here is the inspirational photo:
Cool hey!

Here is my take on it:
Apologies for the really bad photo... night time and batteries for my super duper new flash were donated to Ninky Nonk

Sooo... Most of my green isn't quite the same as in the palette... but I kind of didn't look at the picture again before I started.  Oh well... it's still pretty bright lol.  Also, not as much white space as I would have liked, but you have to give me credit for getting a DOZEN photos onto a double page!  I'm really happy to have this page done... I find it SO hard to do the Christmas photos... just TOO many to choose from :-)  I really do need to start getting into off the page a bit more... maybe some mini-albums???

Well, I'm going to keep it short and sweet tonight as it is WAY past my bedtime.  Head over here if you would like to give this challenge a go or have a squiz at other entrants and of course the examples from the DT.  LOVE their examples!!!  Felicity Wilson's take... OMG!  AMAZING!!!

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you're having a beautiful day xoxox
